The it-3m project

The it-3m (the 3m's stand for management maturity model) project is a custom-built framework designed by Miguel Cordeiro to support IT leaders in assessing and evolving their organizations. This tool aids in the strategic decision-making process concerning how an organization should manage its Information Technology function. By characterizing the current state (AS-IS) and defining the desired future state (TO-BE), the model helps in designing necessary evolutionary action plans to raise the maturity of IT management processes, which may include reviewing organizational models, governance, project practices, and investment approaches. The model is structured around four maturity levels—Ad-Hoc, Opportunistic, Systematized, and Optimized—and covers key areas of control such as Governance, IT Operations, People and Talent, and Risk and Compliance. It can be applied to organizations of any size, market, or sector of activity.
